Trek Electric Mountain Bikes
How can it get any better? Nobody goes mountain biking for the uphill bits, so avoid the slog and savour the downhills and the scenery with an electric mountain bike.
The full-fat version of an electric mountain bike is the Trek Rail+ (Trek electric bikes all carry the suffix ‘+’). They have 85Nm of torque ( a lot of power) and a whopper battery to keep going for ages. We’ve done tests to flat on the batteries, and this bike has done 37 miles including 1000 metres of ascent until it ran out, on the South Downs Way. The Rail ranges from £4250 up to an eye-watering £12,000!

The Trek Fuel Plus is a more lighter version of a mountain bike, but with less power - manufacturers now are finding that some people would like the lightness and manoeuvrability of a normal mountain bike with just some assistance for the uphill bits.
Slash Plus is the electric version of the very tough downhill bike for tough terrain enthusiasts. For the committed.
